Hello World!

Welcome to Finsmacks! My name is Smitha, and I’m here to share my knowledge, experience and journey with personal finance. I believe that financial intelligence is often under-rated, and that’s why I decided to start this blog. Finsmacks is a blend of finance, smarts, and hacks. The name itself represents the main goal of my blog, which is to provide clear, actionable and smart information on personal finance, cutting through the clutter and making it easy for you to make better financial decisions.

In India, people have a very traditional mindset about personal finance. They often rely on conventional wisdom and old-fashioned advice, without considering the changing economic landscape and the new opportunities that technology has to offer. But personal finance is not just about investing; it’s a holistic process that involves budgeting, saving, managing debt, and planning for the future.

That’s why I believe that personal financial planning and management has to be holistic, and not focussed only on investing. There is a lot of data and information available openly, and one needs to cut through the clutter to make some smart decisions that can easily improve the returns they get from their money.

My goal with Finsmacks is to help people like you (and me!) make better financial decisions by providing clear and actionable information, tips and tricks, and personal stories. I want to demystify personal finance and show you that anyone can achieve financial success with the right mindset, tools, and resources.

You can expect to find a wide range of topics on this blog, from budgeting and saving to investing and financial planning. I’ll be sharing my own experiences, as well as the latest research and best practices.

Thank you for joining me on this journey. I hope you find the information on Finsmacks helpful and inspiring. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me. I’d be happy to hear from you.

PS: The cover image on this blog is actually static noise. It seemed apt for this first post, since the aim is to cut through the clutter!
